Architectural cognition cards: a card-based method for introducing spatial cognition research and user-centred thinking into the design process

In this article, we present the rationale, development and preliminary evaluation of a novel set materials to encourage improve consideration users their needs during process architectural design. Our focus is specifically on two areas: user-centred design principles spatial cognition research. To end, developed decks flash-cards, termed Architectural Strategies Cards (72 cards) Spatial Cognition (111 cards). We conducted evaluations cards in studio thinking workshops with multidisciplinary groups students practitioners. results suggest that designers’ immersion into perspective building-users playful way introduce scientific concepts effectively. conclusion, argue serious-games card-based methods should be part multiple approaches necessary thinking, integrate research findings evidence-based at large.
